assemble arterial line set-up
Get help from OTA to get the necessary equipment
1. Prepare a 500 ml bag of normal saline (stored in a blue plastic box labelled with "A-line 專用" and kept at lotion room).
2. Spike the bag with the transducer administration set.
3. Fix the soft bag of NS in the pressure bag.
4. Squeeze saline just into the small chamber is enough.
5. Pressurize the pressure bag to 300 mm Hg via a turning series of corresponding 3-way stopcock.
6. Then invert the bag, and fast flush it to remove all air from the bag
7. Remove all air from the tubing and transducer set using the fast flush device. Pay particular attention to the transducer part of the Tubing and the flush port. The smallest air bubble must be removed to insure transducer accuracy.
8. Pressurize the pressure bag to 300 mm Hg. The purpose of this is to provide backpressure to prevent blood from contaminating the transducer.
9. 3 pairs of labelling making arterial line should be then sticked on the chamber, clamps and along the tubing. Labels are located on the surface of blue color anesthetist's working trolley.
